For acute or long term constipation caused by deficiency of YIN or Blood. Reliable, safer than senna, and more suitable for long-term use. It's a tonic (strengthening) formula with laxative effect.  Dr. Shen's Rhubarb is an herbal blend that brings out the best qualities of Chinese rhubarb. 

This herbal laxative, known as RUN CHANG WAN, meaning “moisten the intestines pills” is a classic formula that moistens the intestines and strengthens the blood. It acts as a safe mild laxative to treat constipation associated with dry bowels, insufficient bodily fluids, and or deficiency of the blood. 

Safety Cautions and Contra-indications

AVOID DURING PREGNANCY AND NURSING. If constipation  lasts more than a week, consult a physician. Using any laxative during pregnancy should be avoided.
