What Is Flavonex?
Flavones Sourced from Traditional Chinese MedicineFlavonex is designed to help maintain good heart health by supporting normal circulation. The Flavonex formula begins with three Chinese herbs rich in flavones. These herbs are combined with several other traditional Chinese herbs thought to improve cerebral functions and to prolong life. The formula also contains Red Root Sage (salvia DAN SHEN), noted for its ability to vitalize heart blood. Note that Flavonex uses BAI GUO, the ginkgo biloba nut, which is the part of the tree historically used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), rather than ginkgo leaf, which is the part of the tree used in today's Western herbal products. Note that both herbs, the nut and the leaf, are mildly toxic and should not be used alone as single herbs. These herbs are much safer to use in formulas, such as this one where, combining it with other herbs reduces the amount consumed, and allows adjunctive herbs in the formula to mitigate the side-effects of the ginkgo. Western research has suggested that ginkgo may help cognitive function, as it appears to support blood circulation in the brain. |
