Chinese Herbs for Pain Relief

Pain is a sign of poor flow.   When flows of blood, energy, fluids, vapours, food, or waste become sluggish, stagnant, or stuck, we will normally experience pain.  Because these flows have functions,  symptoms that accompany pain and are related to these functions,  may clarify the nature and origin of the pain.

As these flows are  nourishing, stimulating, cleansing, cooling, or moistening,  inhibiting them will create atrophy, deficiency, exhaustion, accumulation, obstruction, inflammation, and dryness.

This collection of herbal products are all related to reducing pain, but they cover a very wide range of conditions.  Few of them are simple pain relievers, but rather are designed to address specific patterns that underlie pain.   

Note that many herbs used to relieve pain are considered Blood Vitalizers, the majority of which are CONTRA-INDICATED DURING PREGNANCY.  It is highly recommended that these be taken only under the supervision of an herbalist trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  If there are none available to you, please consider an e-mail consultation with us.
