Modifiying ZHI SOU SAN

• Early stage wind-cold: add Sheng Jiang
• Headache, stuffy nose, chills and fever: add Fang Feng, Su Ye 
• Summerheat: add Huang Lian, Huang Qin, Tian Hua Fen
• Sticky sputum: add  Ban Xia, Fu Ling, Sang Bai Pi, Sheng Jiang, Da Zao
• Dry cough: add Jing Jie, Chen Pi; + Gua Lou, Bei Mu, Zhi Mu, Bai Zi Ren
• Wind-Heat: add Ju Hua, Sang Ye, Bo He, Huang Qin, Niu Bang Zi
  
  

ZHI SOU SAN Cautions and Safety

• Do not use for chronic cough.
• Contraindicated for those with cough due to Yin Deficiency.
• Contraindicated for those with cough due to Lung Heat.
• Contraindicated for those with cough due to Phlegm-Heat.
• Use with extreme caution if the cough is accompanied by Blood-streaked Phlegm.
