SHU DI HUANG CAUTIONS
  • Must be modified for use with Phlegm or Qi Stagnation.
  • Must be modified for those with bloating and pain in the abdomen, nausea and diarrhea.
  • Use caution for those with Spleen Deficiency or loose stool.
  • Use caution for those with Qi Stagnation.
  • Long term use can lead to bloating and loose stools.

 


Preparing Whole Herbs:

After rinsing with cold water,  herbs are boiled in a container made of ceramic, glass, or stainless steel (no aluminum, iron or copper)

General boiling directions: As prescribed. Boil herbs for 30 minutes or until 2 cups of medicine remain. Strain herbs; save and refrigerate for a second boiling. Drink 1 cup in the AM. And 1 cup in the PM. If desired, repeat the following day, using the saved herbs from the refrigerator.
