How to Use GAN CAO YOU

Ointment: Mix one part Gan Cao and 10 parts sesame oil (not included). Leave to steep for 24 hours, then fry until herbs are brown. Strain out herbs and use oil topically. Apply to the affected area 2-3 times daily.

Tincture: Cover herbs with 50% alcohol in a covered glass container. Soak for at lest 24 hours. Apply topically. 

Decoction: Boil contents of 100 grams in 2 quarts of water in a non-alluminum pot for 30 minutes and reduce to 2 cups of liquid. Use as a soak or topical poultice,
