When to Use Dragon's Blood, XUE JIE

DraconisSanguis (Chinese: XUE JIE; English: dragon's blood) is a plant resin that is often used in martial art injury formulas. There is an entire branch of Chinese medicine called DIT DA YAO, or Hit Medicine. These amazing herbs and herb formulas have been historically cultivated and perfected by practitioners of the Chinese martial arts.  Dragon Blood is one of a number of plant resins that have long been used to support and promote healing. Dragon blood breaks congealed blood and alleviates pain. Combine it with RU XIANG (frankincense) and MO YAO (myrrh) for trauma-induced pain, swelling, or hemorrhage. It is used in fresh or powdered form.  Use 0.3-1.5 grams topically or internally or dissolved in hot liquid. Do not boil this herb.
