Topical Chinese Medicine | Herbs for the Skin, Joints & Tendons
Chinese herbal medicine is said to have 2 branches, internal medicine and superficial medicine. Superficial (or topical) medicine treats both skin diseases as well as injury to the joints and tendons. Most remedies that are effective for skin conditions are prescribed according to internal diagnostic principals. Most remedies for injury were developed by monks who were practitioners of the martial arts. This is called "Hit Medicine". Both branches of TCM require skill and experience, and those seeking a solution to their medical problems are strongly advised to seek the help of an experienced practitioner.
