Ardisia 16 - Seven Forests
Jin Niu Cao Tong Pian
This modern day sixteen herb formula by renown herbalist Subhuti Dharmananda, is designed for serious conditions of Disturbed Shen, where misting phlegm threatens to obscure the portals of consciousness. This condition can lead to mental disturbances where reality becomes unclear, and which may include symptoms such as hearing disembodied voices, hallucinations, and other symptoms which might be diagnosed as psychotic. The calming nature of many of the herbs also make this a useful formula in aiding withdrawal from drug or alcohol dependence.
