Fiji islanders call Tamu oil dolno, which means “no pain.” 

Tamanu oil is extracted from the seeds of the Calophyllum inophyllum, a large evergreen tree growing in East Africa, India and Australia. Tamu Oil is used in the traditional medicines of Africa and Asia.

Health Concerns’ Tamu Oil is designed to maintain a healthy complexion. The chief ingredient is tamanu (calophyllum inophyllum)‚ which, on a cellular level, is said to promote the growth of new skin. Tamanu oil is used by Pacific Island folk medicine to heal minor cuts, bruises, and scrapes. 

Health Concerns' Tamu Oil is also a good source of linoleic and other fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory effects.

Tamu Oil has also been used to relieve pain or stiffness in the muscles and tendons as it also contains calophyllolide, another known anti-inflammatory agent .

Tamanu oil contains neutral lipids, glyco-lipids, and phospholipids. Additionally, the oil contains 3 unique  compounds:

  • Calophyllic acid
  • An anti-inflammatory called calophyllolide
  • An antibiotic called lactone
