Escape Restraint is based on (YUE JU WAN), a traditional formula published by Zhu Dan Xi during the Jin Yuan Dynasties (1281-1358 AD). It is used for minor stagnations and consequent heat from QI stagnation resulting in belching, bloating, vomiting, acid regurgitation, mild coughing from reflux, low appetite and indigestion.
Escape Restraint is a Regulating QI formula, said to promote the movement of QI. Components of the formula, Regulate QI, Vitalize Blood, Dry Damp, Clear Heat, and Eliminate Food Stagnation.
It acts on both the Liver and the Stomach, and is thus widely employed to address upper digestive complaints that are stress related. For this purpose, in may be combined or alternated with SHU GAN WAN, or CHAI HU SHU GAN WAN
