How to Dose and Administer XIAO FENG HUA YU TANG
- Decoct raw herbs or dissolve granules in water. Administer once in the morning and once in the evening. Use the fluid in a warm compress to be applied to the affected area for 10-15 minutes once daily. After two weeks, reduce both the internal and external dosages to once every other day.
How to Cook Whole Herbs: Using a container made of ceramic, glass, or stainless steel (no aluminum, iron or copper) boil 1 packet of herbs in 1-2-quarts (or liters) of water or until 2 cups of medicine remain. Adjust lid to keep too much water from evaporating. Strain herbs; save and refrigerate for a second boiling. Drink 1 cup in the AM, and 1 cup in the PM. Save the dregs, decoct again and use the fluid in a warm compress to be applied to the affected area for 10-15 minutes once daily.
