Safety and Side Effects of SU HE TANG

  • Contraindicated for those with a constitutional Spleen and Stomach Cold condition who has contracted Gu for the second or third time.
  • Contraindicated for those who has taken Su He Tang for a long time and have already cleared all of the Gu poison.
  • Symptoms of overdose: restlessness, distress, vomiting or diarrhea.

Pregnant and nursing women should consult their healthcare provider before using any supplement.

How to Dose and Administer SU YE TANG

  • The formula needs to be administered in unusually high amounts to be fully effective.
  • Gradually work up to the full daily amount over a period of 5-6 doses. =
  • Work up to 50- 120g of crude herbs or the equivalent in herbal granules per day.
  • Treatment should be sustained over a period of 3-9 months.

Granules: 2-4 grams, taken 2-3 times a day, best on an empty stomach.  Or as prescribed by your practitioner.

Whole Herbs: Using a container made of ceramic, glass, or stainless steel (no aluminum, iron or copper) boil 1 packet of herbs in 1-2-quarts (or liters) of water or until 2 cups of medicine remain. Adjust lid to keep too much water from evaporating. Strain herbs; save and refrigerate for a second boiling. Drink 1 cup in the AM. And 1 cup in the PM. If desired, repeat the following day, using the saved herbs from the refrigerator.  Or as prescribed by your practitioner.
